Jay Chauhan

I am constantly exploring places, techniques and skills. I like to challenge myself. 

I admire hand crafts and mechanics, where a lot of my ideas begin to grow. 

My dad and grandfather introduced me to photography. I learnt how to develop 35mm film and experimented in printing styles. In university, I was inspired by documentary photography. 

I mainly shoot portraits, astronomy and landscapes. Currently, my focus is on model portraits and telling a story with my work. The knowledge I gain in planning shoots, inspiration I get during takes, keep pushing me in a deeper direction.   

Competition experience:

Competitions are a fun challenge and push me to improve my skills. This was my first entry for BPA. It forced me to think harder about my photos and the story telling process. Thank you all so much for this opportunity. I look forward to more adventures!
