Yu Fu Tsai

As the rain washes away the city's relentless noise, the water-soaked asphalt transforms into a second sky. Through a 180-degree inversion of perspective, this photograph reimagines Taoyuan's dense nighttime traffic as a contemporary Milky Way flowing across the urban landscape. Reflected in the rain, neon signs become luminous nebulae, while yellow taxis and green buses drift like celestial vessels navigating an endless cosmos. The boundary between reality and reflection dissolves, creating a visual dialogue between gravity and weightlessness, movement and stillness. Through this anti-gravity visual experiment, I seek to uncover a sense of timeless wonder hidden within the routines of metropolitan life. Amid the congestion and intensity of the modern city, the image offers a moment of quiet reflection—a romantic cosmic order where even the loneliest commuter may find a brief sense of escape and belonging.
