KAO I-SHENG

The flagship store of Deep Blue Café in Tainan embodies the pursuit of pure form in modern architecture through its exposed concrete design. This work observes the geometric structures, proportional relationships, and material expressions of the architecture, capturing the order and balance created between concrete, glass, and light. Exposed concrete removes unnecessary decoration, returning architecture to the essence of its materials. The subtle textures on the surface become traces left by time, while the expansive floor-to-ceiling glass dissolves the boundary between interior and exterior, allowing natural light to become another architectural element that continuously transforms within the stillness of the geometric framework. This work explores architecture as a “vessel of contemplation,” examining how points, lines, planes, and proportions establish a spiritual connection between human beings and space.
